The biochemical makeup of everyone is individually unique.
With this in mind, we help your body heal itself. We want to help everyone who needs it but hope to attract the ideal client who will trust the process.
The process involves consistency and compliance to restore health and vitality through a coordinated nutrition plan. We focus on nutrition and use nutrition as the base in helping your body use its own mechanisms to heal itself.
-Hair Mineral Analysis -
The Hair Analysis test used on all of our clients, measures the tissue mineral levels. Measuring tissue minerals gives us insight into the cell function. This is important because nutritional physiology happens on the cellular level. Tissue Mineral Analysis (Hair Analysis) is a unique tool used because:
1) It is inexpensive comparatively to other types of tests.
2) It provides cellular information, which is important because the cell is where metabolism begins.
The biochemical make up of everyone is different, so this can create a challenge in creating a specific nutritional plan. The Hair Analysis gives us levels that help us determine which nutrients and how much to ingest. The level of each individual mineral is important but the ratio of minerals to one another really shows how specific organs and glands are functioning. With ratio information, we can see patterns of these glands and organs, often before abnormalities may appear on blood tests and x-rays.
Conditions which may result or be aggravated by a mineral imbalance are:
Allergies, anemia, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, depression, diabetes, digestive disturbance, emotional problems, hair loss, headaches, hyperactivity, hypertension, hypoglycemia, musculo-skeletal disorders, prostate disorders, skin rashes, thyroid conditions, etc.
Mood swings, for example, may be caused by possible toxic metal accumulation such as lead, mercury, or cadmium.
Difference between Blood Testing and Hair Analysis
Blood Testing is a great tool to use when looking for answers to health related issues, Hair Mineral Analysis is great as well. The difference between the two tests is the time frame tested. Hair Mineral Analysis uses the average of the past three months of cellular metabolism to gain data. Blood Tests see what is happening right then, when the blood is drawn. Blood Testing, as stated before, is not inferior to Hair Analysis or vice versa they serve different purposes. Hair Mineral Analysis is not used to diagnose health condition, but to use the mineral ratios from tissue function to see patterns that may be affecting our health.
Mineral imbalances may be caused by the following:
Improper diet – such as excessive intake of refined carbohydrates and sugars, vegetarian diets or other exclusive diets.
Taking vitamins and minerals that are not bio-available to your body; they may be "all natural' but not absorbable.
Medications, birth control pills.
Toxic accumulation of heavy metals from the environment, job, hobby or food preparation methods. Heredity also play in mineral part patterns from parents.
Special requirements for submitting a hair sample:
A hair sample should be collected prior to coloring, bleaching or perming the hair.
If your hair has already been permed, colored, or bleached, a wait time of 6-8 weeks is recommended before sample can be collected.
This also includes the application of hair sprays, hair creams, gels and oils.
The hair should be washed within 24 hours before taking the sample and must be dry for at least 4 hours after shampooing.
Most shampoos, conditioners and rinses do not contain metals and won't effect the accuracy of the analysis, however medicated shampoos such as Selsun Blue, Head & Shoulders or any hair growth formulas are a concern. Grecian formulas contain lead and iron.
The hair sample should be cut as close to the scalp as possible and should be a maximum of 1.5 inches in length. Collect the samples from the nape of the neck.
Place the sample in the envelop that is provided – do not place it in plastic baggies or aluminum foil.
